Lakmē Fashion Week is one of the most prestigious fashion events, showcasing the work of established and emerging designers. The event is organized in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI). If you are also aiming for applying to the upcoming Lakmē fashion event, you've come to the right place.
First of all, what is Lakmē Fashion Week X The Fashion Design Council of India Design Program?
It is a special initiative by Lakmē Fashion Week (LFW) & The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) to provide a unique platform for designers from across India to showcase their collection at fashion week and reach the fashion industry both nationally and globally.
Dates of the event are 26th - 30th, March, Mumbai
GENERAL INFORMATION AND ELEIGIBILITY:
- You need to have in business under one designer label name for minimum 5 years upto 9 years.
- To qualify all designers must present credentials and design under Menswear (ready to wear), Women's wear (ready to wear) / Both categories.
- It is mandatory for all showcasing designers to take stall at the showroom during the event. Cost of the same is covered within the overall show package. Stockroom cost is not including in the show fee package.
- March 2025 is a fluid season; therefore, it is up to the designers to choose which collection/season they would like to showcase as long as it is not released elsewhere.
- Originality of Concept and Innovation in design - creative and unique theme/concept/elements of proposed collection.
- Craftsmanship - standard tailoring, detailing and finishing of the collection should be of high quality.
- Design Aesthetics - balance of colours, patterns, prints or embroideries used
- Clarity of Vision - level of clarity behind the design philosophy of the label, theme of the proposed collection and execution

- Fill in the power point presentation with your label information, sketches and pictures of your designs. (strictly as per mentioned in the slides)
- Do not tamper with the presentation format. (no need for special effects and visuals)
- Mention "LAKMĒ FASHION WEEK in partnership with The Fashion Design Council of India Designer program - *insert designer label name*" in the subject line of your email.
- Do not submit physical samples at this stage.
- Refer to the guidance note for submission of presentation and pictures/ sketches mentioned in the PPT Template.
- Kindly ensure 12 sketches from the collection and 4-6 developed samples are shared as part of your application.
- Incase designer is keen to showcase at the Atelier, Designer to fill additional slides mentioned in PPT pertaining to the Atelier showcase concept.
- Once you have submitted the Registration form & Presentation, this will be reviewed, and you'll be notified via email whether the application has been selected or not for phase 2.
- Once you've been selected, you'll be asked to send 2-3 physical sample looks from the presentation submitted which will be considered for the jury shortlist.
- All applicants are screened and examined anonymously by the LAKME FASHION WEEK X The Fashion Design Council of India Jury.
- This jury comprises of Leading Journalists, Educationists, Design Storeowners, Buyers, Senior Designers as well as a representative from The Fashion Design Council of India, Lakmē & Reliance Brands LTD.
- The board makes the final selection based on the designers' quality, design, innovation and ability to legitimately take their business to the next level.
- LAKMĒ FASHION WEEK in partnership with The Fashion Design Council of India appointed talent and models for the showcase
- Promotion by Lakmē Fashion Week & The Fashion Design Council of India on across all Social media handles
- Media exposure & PR support
- A stall at the Showroom (It is mandatory to take a stall)
